CUSTOM PICKLEBALL PADDLE CONSTRUCTION

The custom Pickleball Paddle face measures 11” (28cm) long x 7.625” (19.4cm) wide, and with the handle and surround measures 15.75” (40cm) long x 7.75” (19.7cm). The thickness of the custom pickleball paddle is 0.39″ (10mm) and the weight is 8 oz (227g).

These custom pickleball paddles are quality constructed with a lightweight fiberglass & polypropylene honeycomb core, and a conventional shape and smooth hitting surface that produces solid contact with a large sweet spot, making them perfect for a pickleball beginner, but also providing ample power and an excellent feel for the more competitive player.

There are 3 custom pickleball paddle color options – Tan, Black or White, featured on the hand-wrapped handle and the face surround of the pickleball paddle.

HOW TO PLAY PICKLEBALL

WHAT IS PICKLEBALL?

Pickleball is a paddle (racquet, bat) and ball sport that is played on a badminton size court divided into two service boxes and ‘the kitchen’ – a non-volley zone close to the net. The pickleball net is essentially a tennis net set at a shorter height.

PLAYING A POINT IN PICKLEBALL

To serve, a player must stand between the sidelines and the centreline and at least one foot of the server must be behind the baseline.

The ball is served underarm – either straight out of the hand or bounced on the ground then hit underarm – into the diagonally opposite service box, clearing the kitchen (the non-volley zone, the section closest to the net).

The ball must bounce in the service box before the player can return the ball, and must bounce once on each side of the court before any player can start to volley the ball. 

If any shot is played inside the kitchen during a point, the ball must be left to bounce first, or else the other player/team wins the point.

The rally continues until either a player or doubles team either hit a shot out of bounds or into the net, or someone hits a winner – when the ball bounces twice in a row.

However, only the serving player or team can actually score a point. If the non-serving player/team wins the point, they gain service with no point scored. 

PICKLEBALL SCORING

The winner of a pickleball game is the first player or doubles team to reach 11 points. However, just as in a tie-break in tennis, players have to win by two clear points. Therefore, if the game is tied at 10-10, play continues until one player or team goes two points ahead.

A player can only win a point if serving, and you continue serving until you lose a point. Then the other player/team gains service and is able to start scoring points.

After a server wins a point, the players swap sides and the pickleball is served into the other service box.

In doubles, each player of a team serves in turn before the serve can be won by the opposing team. When players call out three numbers when announcing the score in doubles, the third number refers to which player is serving. Therefore, if the score is 5-7 and your team is about to start serving, you would call out 5-7-1 (player one is serving). If you then lose the point you would call 5-7-2 as the serve now goes to your partner. Only after both players have lost their serves does the service pass to the opposition. The only exception to this doubles serving rule is at the start of the game, where only one player gets to serve and the call is 0-0-2.
